Gallery 01 – looking good there, Ashley!

We recently went to meet one of Wrexham’s newest independent shop owners, Ashley Vaughan Roberts, who has opened Gallery 01 in the South Arcade of Tŷ Pawb – a delightful ladies clothing and accessories shop that really has people talking!

Ashley has always worked in retail and over the years he has come to know what works and what doesn’t – his customer service skills are excellent and his taste is pretty cool .

Ashley explained to us that Wrexham has a special place in his heart and he appreciates how much it has changed, but he loves what’s been done with Tŷ Pawb and he’s getting fabulous feedback from his customers who like the concept, the food court and the way it’s laid out.

Lots of his customers are finding Gallery 01 via social media and by just walking past. He sells dresses, all under £40 by really competitive brands that aren’t available in Chester or Liverpool – you’d have to go all the way to Manchester to see the same brand.

He also stocks candles, home fragrances, jewellery and bath and body products. They’re sell for a wide range of prices that would suit most pockets and if bought as a gift would show that little bit of extra thought and effort had gone into it.

One of the reasons Ashley chose to open up in Wrexham was the amount of events and festivals that are taking place here. When they’re on, people come from across the region and as a result many visit his shop – where they’re sure to receive a very warm welcome.

He agrees there’s still a lot to learn but “that’s retail – customer’s habits change and we all have to keep up!”

We asked how Ashley marketed himself during these very difficult retail times – his response was a big high five for social media. He’s on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – with Twitter coming out on top!

So if you’ve got a special occasion coming up or just want to treat yourself why not pay Ashley at Gallery 01 a visit

We thank Ashley for his time and we wish him well for his future in Wrexham.
