Foster Care Fortnight is The Fostering Network’s annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and to show how foster care transforms lives. It is also the UK’s biggest foster carer recruitment campaign.

In Wrexham, we will be holding an information and drama event at Tŷ Pawb on Tuesday May, 14, 3.30-7pm. Anyone can pop along to this free event to find out more about foster carers and how you can become a foster carer yourself.

COULD YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE LIFE OF A CHILD IN CARE?

Social workers and experts will be on hand to answer your questions as well as foster carers who will be able to tell you first-hand what it is like to foster children.

Running from May 13 until May 26, Foster Care Fortnight will ask those who may have been considering fostering for some time to see what they can provide children in need of care and support.

Those who may not have previously looked at fostering will also be able to take advantage of the advice on offer from trained officers and former carers.

The fortnight takes place in co-ordination with The Fostering Network, a leading charity that promotes fostering awareness.

Cllr Bill Baldwin, Lead Member for Children’s Services said: “While fostering is something which requires a strong level of commitment and responsibility, we want to show people who might rule themselves out on the basis that they don’t think they have the time or the resources that it could well be within their capabilities.

“Being a foster carer is by no means easy, but with the contribution of just some time and effort, you can make an immeasurable difference to the life of a child in care.”
