Football supporters travelling to Wrexham AFC home matches are being encouraged to plan their journeys and make use of a range of affordable public transport and park-and-ride options this season.
Arriva bus travel
A new promotional Arriva bus fare will allow supporters travelling to a home match within the Wrexham County, to purchase an Adult Day ticket for £2 when they show proof of their match ticket.
Ruthin Road Park & Ride
The offer will operate alongside the popular Ruthin Road park and ride service, which is available for all home league and cup fixtures.
Parking at the Ruthin Road council offices is free, with return bus fares to the Racecourse Ground costing:
- £1 for adults
- 50p for children
- Free for passengers aged over 60 with a valid concessionary travel pass
The park and ride service will be promoted jointly by Wrexham County Borough Council, Wrexham AFC and Arriva North West and Wales, helping more supporters travel to matches without needing to park near the stadium.
Eagles Meadow Free Parking
The Club is also continuing this season with its offer of free parking at Eagles Meadow on matchdays. Supporters parking at Eagles Meadow simply need to pass by the Official Club Shop and enter their car registration number in the online system to qualify.
Work is also continuing with Transport for Wales to explore potential matchday rail fare incentives.
Council highways officers will continue to work closely with Wrexham AFC through safety advisory meetings, helping to plan for the increased number of supporters attending matches and the future development of the new Kop stand.
Councillor David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment, said: “The continued success of Wrexham AFC is fantastic for the city, but we recognise that the growing number of supporters attending home matches can place additional pressure on parking and the surrounding road network.
“These affordable travel options give supporters a convenient alternative to driving directly to the stadium, while also helping to reduce congestion and inconsiderate parking in nearby residential areas.
“Passengers with a matchday ticket need to ask the driver for the discounted fare, which is a welcome addition this season, alongside our popular Ruthin Road park and ride service. We hope supporters will take advantage of these offers and help us make matchdays safer and more enjoyable for fans and residents alike.”

“We are committed to promoting sustainable travel and reducing our environmental impact, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that we publicly committed to supporting at the United Nations in New York in 2025.

The investment made into public transport by Wrexham Council over the last three years has already generated over 163,000 additional passenger journeys.
