  • What can I do if I think I’ve been scammed?

So, here’s some info to help you be #ScamAware

Identifying scams

Week one is dedicated to helping you to identify what a scam is, as scams can come in many forms and are increasingly complex and sophisticated.

Citizens Advice wants to give you the knowledge you’ll need to recognise different scams, and show you how, if you think you’re being targeted, to stop and seek advice on what to do next.

You can find more about this on their website.

Reporting scams

Week two (from Monday) will be looking at how you can report a scam, because if you think you’ve been scammed, there are steps you can take to protect yourself from things getting worse.

If you take action immediately, you might even be able to recover some of the money you’ve lost.

What can I do if I think I’ve been scammed?

Stop and get advice from the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0808 223 1133 (or 0808 223 1144 for Welsh language).

You can report scams to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or @actionfrauduk on Twitter.

Remember, always be #ScamAware
