The Summer Art Club offers a more in depth creating and making session with a different artist leading each week. Each workshop is inspired by our current exhibition ‘Nau, Nau, Doh, Chaar’ and is made possible thanks to support from the Thomas Howells Education Fund for North Wales.

This club is suitable for children aged 9 to 12.

Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!

Participation in Welsh is available at every session.

Booking essential due to limited places. Free bursary places and/or free packed lunches are available for low income families – email teampawb@wrexham.gov.uk for more information.

Summer Art Club schedule

22nd July – Join artist Jamila Walker to explore the gallery and create your own miniature market stall sculpture! What will your tiny shop sell?

29th July – Discover pattern in this workshop with local ceramicist Ceri Wright! Create your own relief imprinted clay artworks to take home. Clay can be messy, so please don’t come to this workshop in your best clothes!

5th August – Join illustrator-artist David Setter (AKA Doodle Dave) to create colourful artworks using vinyl! Learn how to cut and collage with this versatile material in this fun interactive workshop.

12th August – Design your own Turkish Map Fold artworks with printmaker and illustrator Rhi Moxon! Inspired by the colours and patterns found in the exhibition, you’ll learn screen printing and paper folding techniques. Printing can be messy, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting inky!

19th August – Work with Wrexham-based textiles artist Noemi Santos to create your own knitting samples. Learn a technique to get you turning everything from rainbow wool to skipping ropes into knitted creations!

26th August (Bank Holiday Monday) – Join us for creative interactive sculptural painting with artist Sarah Ryder. In this playful session we’ll be making a collaborative sculpture from and unlikely hero material – tin foil! This is a messy workshop, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on!
