Have your say on 20mph roads

The chance to have your say on roads that could potentially change from 20mph to 30mph has begun.

The Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) have been published and you have until January 31, 2025, to email us with your thoughts. The full list of roads is available on our website.

Over the last few months, we have been reviewing all the comments we received following the Welsh Government 20mph Listening Phase, and assessing them against their revised guidance.

A list of roads that you believe should return to a 30mph speed limit have, where the guidance also suggests it could be suitable, been published. This is a TRO, and is a legal requirement before the speed limit can be changed.

Every TRO has a public consultation meaning that you are now able to show support or raise objections.

At the end of the TRO consultation period on January 31, 2025, final decisions will be made on any changes using the council’s normal decision-making processes. Please note that we will not be able to provide individual feedback to every comment we have received and the length of this part of the process will depend on the number and complexity of objections received.

Cllr David Bithell, lead member for housing and climate change, said: “This has been a lengthy project and I would like to thank the staff involved for all their hard work as well as members of the public who have given us their thoughts on which roads they believe should be 30mph. I encourage residents to now respond to this consultation and make sure their thoughts are heard.”

If you would like to support or object to any of the proposals, please email 20mphConsultation@wrexham.gov.uk. Please note that we are only able to accept responses that are specific to the roads listed in the TROs.
