Visitors to this year’s FOCUS Wales are being encouraged to call in at Hwb Cymraeg, located on Queen’s Square during the festival weekend.
Running throughout FOCUS Wales 2026, Hwb Cymraeg will once again provide a welcoming, relaxed and inclusive space for people to come together, enjoy the atmosphere of the festival and experience the Welsh language in an informal and friendly setting.
Open daily from 9:30am-10pm, Hwb Cymraeg is an ideal place for learners and new speakers to build confidence and practice their Cymraeg, refreshments are also available throughout the day.
The programme includes a wide variety of music, conversational sessions and family-friendly activities, helping to create a bilingual space that is open to everyone – not just Welsh speakers.

Stephen Jones, Welsh Language Officer for Wrexham Council said “Hwb Cymraeg is a space for everyone to enjoy during FOCUS Wales. Whether you are a seasoned Cymraeg speaker, a learner or someone who simply wants to hear and experience more of the language, you will get a Croeso mawr (big welcome) at the HWB.”
“It’s a chance to relax, have fun, meet people and enjoy a great mix of performances and activities in the heart of the city centre. We want Hwb Cymraeg to be a place where people feel comfortable using whatever Welsh they have, while also encouraging others to learn more and join in.”
