Wrexham is proud to mark Carers Week 2026 by hosting a special community event at the Wellbeing Hub on Wednesday June 10, from 10am to 12pm. The event aims to recognise the vital contribution of unpaid carers across the area and ensure they have access to the support, information, and services they need.
Carers Week is a national campaign that highlights the challenges unpaid carers face and recognises the enormous impact they make to families, communities, and the wider health and social care system. This year’s theme focuses on putting carers at the heart of our communities, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and supported.
The Wellbeing Hub event will bring together a wide range of local organisations offering advice, guidance, and practical support. Information stalls will include:
- Nightingale House Hospice
- NEWCIS
- Warm Wales
- Groundwork
- Adferiad
- North Wales Fire Service
- Wrexham Family Information Service
- Direct Payments Team
- …and several more community partners
Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with professionals, learn about available services, and explore support options tailored to carers of all ages and circumstances.
Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Adult Social Care, said: “Unpaid carers play an essential role in our communities, often balancing significant responsibilities with little recognition. Carers Week gives us the chance to celebrate their dedication and ensure they know support is available.
“We encourage anyone who provides care, whether for a family member, friend, or neighbour to come along, connect with local services, and find out what help is on offer.”
