You may have noticed that the lamp post poppies have gone up a little earlier this year…and there is an incredible reason that is 80 metres long!
This October, you can follow the poppies to St. Giles’ Church and see the incredible ‘Longest Yarn’ exhibition, telling the story of World War Two.
With 80 panels depicting scenes from D-Day and the Battle of Britain to everyday life on the Home Front, each scene has been meticulously researched, designed and handcrafted.
The Longest Yarn is currently on tour and will land in St Giles Parish Church later this month and will be open for the public to see on October 5, 2026.
