There are many reasons why a library can be a great place to work…

Content
The jobs…What you need…

For starters, the services our libraries provide are varied and they contribute to – amongst other things – helping people learn new skills, helping children to read, assisting people improve their knowledge on lots of topics, such as health, and can help jobseekers look for their next role and get back into work.

TAKE PART IN THE COUNCIL PLAN CONSULTATION 20-22

Interested? Well, the good news is we currently have two vacancies to work in our libraries 🙂

The jobs…

We’re advertising for a Library Assistant (maternity cover) and Relief Library Assistants.

Library Assistant (maternity cover)

This job is three-afternoons-a-week (Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays) and based at Wrexham Library.

Relief Library Assistant

Our relief library assistants work across all the public libraries in Wrexham, as and when required, to provide cover for holidays and sickness.

Both positions involve working in a front line environment. You will assist customers by answering enquiries, locating and suggesting resources and taking part in activities run by the library service.

You’ll use your excellent customer service skills and knowledge to contribute to the overall running of the library service.

What you need…

You need a minimum of five GCSE passes (of grade C and above), including English and Maths (or equivalent). Good IT skills are also helpful.

A decent knowledge of public libraries and authors would be helpful, and the ability to speak Welsh is desirable too.

For an informal discussion about the post, you can call 01978 292090.

The closing date for both jobs is Friday, July 19.
