FOCUS Wales has been nominated for yet another award and this time it’s the European Festival Awards 🙂

They’re nominated for the Best Indoor Festival and we think they’re the best contenders ever!

They’re in good company as other nominations in other categories include Lollapalooza, Rock Werchter and Glastonbury.

Every year FOCUS Wales brings tens of thousands of visitors from across the globe flock to Wrexham to fill venues across Wrexham town centre which comes to life to the sound of music. Hotels report being full up and traders can take advantage of the increased numbers in the town.

The Welsh language is also celebrated at the Hwb – a large teepee on Queens Square that hosts welsh language performers. It’s very a popular venue and people enjoy practicing their Welsh language skills whilst meeting new people.

Joe Bickerton, Destination Manager, said: “FOCUS Wales has become a cornerstone of our events calendar here in Wrexham. The festival brings thousands of visitors into the town centre each year, which results in additional trade for the local hospitality, tourism and retail industry. The organisers are not only passionate about the music scene and supporting Welsh artists – but also taking Wrexham and Wales into the international music community. They deserve our backing and I’ll be showing my support by voting for them.”

Next year will be the 10 Anniversary of the event which has gone from strength to strength each year. The first 50 acts have already been named with Super Furry Animals, Gruff Rhys headlining. You can read more about that below.
