Learn Cycling provide cycle training in Wrexham and Flintshire schools and they’re now looking for enthusiastic people to take up training to join them as they deliver their national standards cycle training courses.

They’re offering a limited number of bursaries for local individuals to undertake a Level 2 Award in Cycle Instructing.

The qualification involves one week of practical learning with some theory based tasks, and a post-course assessment once the trainee has been delivering sessions alongside experienced instructors for a period of time.

“Working as a cycling instructor is hugely rewarding”

Learn Cycling’s Mark Jones said, “We are really pleased with the uptake of cycle training in Wrexham and Flintshire schools since we started working in the area.  Many courses have taken place already and we have received lots of encouraging feedback praising the impact that this training has.

“We are now looking for people who love cycling, are passionate about active travel and who enjoy working with young people, to help us to reach even more schools in the area.

“Working as a cycling instructor is hugely rewarding and this is a great opportunity to make a positive difference in our community.”

Learn Cycling has been providing national standards cycle training on behalf of both local authorities since December 2021, with an experienced and well-qualified group of freelance instructors visiting schools to teach pupils about controlling a cycle and riding safely and confidently on public highways.
