Could you join our next Help a Ranger Day and help make a difference in your community?
Come along on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Alyn Waters Country Park to help out one of our rangers and get to know your community.
What are Help a Ranger Days?
Help a Ranger Days are held at local parks in Wrexham. You get the opportunity to meet new people while working together to complete a variety of outdoor tasks.
These tasks may include clearing paths, removing invasive species, building and replacing fences, maintaining hedgerows, general park upkeep, and organizing litter picks. Each park is unique, so the specific tasks will vary.
To ensure they are open to as many people as possible, we hold our Help a Ranger days on different days of the week and at different parks each month.
Who can help out?
Anyone aged 12 or over (children must be accompanied by an adult) who wants to join in! The tasks are set on the day depending on the skills and abilities of the people involved.
Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Environmental Services, said “This is a great opportunity to get involved and understand some of the dedicated work that our rangers do to maintain our parks, carrying out conservation work to support wildlife and ensuring that they remain great places for everyone to enjoy”.
How do I join in this month?
If you can help out please meet us at the Caffi Cyfle on the Gwersyllt side of Alyn Waters Country Park (Mold Road LL11 4AG) at 10am on Thursday, November 14.
The session will last from 10am to 2pm and you can stay as long as you prefer.
The daily car park charge is £1 using the pay and display machines (by cash or card, or by using JustPark – a cashless payment system).
