In January 2021, some of our tenants in Caego and Pontfadog experienced devastating flooding to their properties; some of which caused such significant damage that they had to be decanted to other properties.
We know that this upheaval is not what anyone needs, and to have to move out of your own home, without your home comforts is distressing enough, however, during these unprecedented times, it has been even more difficult and distressing.

Our Housing estate offices have been working hard to support tenants affected by these floods, conducting welfare calls and ensuring those who had to move out were settled and comfortable. Our in-house repairs and maintenance team have been working hard to get their properties back to normal as quickly as possible. So far, they have completed works on 70% of properties affected, with the final works due to be completed very soon.
A tenant affected by the recent flooding said “The repairs team have been fantastic and Broughton estate office offered me support directly after the event and are still supporting me now, I really appreciate it.”
Cllr David Griffiths, Lead Member for Housing said “I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for meeting these very demanding issues when they arose.”
Great work from all Housing staff involved, keeping our tenants safe and ensuring they are back in their homes as quickly as possible.
