Be a volunteer for the day! Come help us plant trees on the open space off Broughton Road, Lodge.

Background

Fully funded – Funded by Trees for Cities, and supported by Wrexham Forest Partnership.

Wrexham Forest partnership are working together to plant trees throughout the county to improve woodland connectivity in the area and help us reach our canopy cover goals for the county. This will help towards our goals as part of Wrexham Woodland Pledge.

Eisteddfod Wrecsam 2025

On the day

The event is taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10am – 2pm.

Free refreshments will be available. If you are staying over lunchtime please bring your own packed lunch and drinks. There are also no toilets on site so please plan ahead (nearest public toilets are in Brynteg Resource Centre).

Children must be accompanied by an adult, tree planting is suitable for all the family but young children will require adult support when digging holes.

All equipment is provided and gloves are available to use, please wear warm weather-appropriate clothes and wellies or sturdy boots!

We will be on site between 10am – 2pm but feel free to stay as long as you like.

Meeting point

Broughton Road (field). The what3words location is lifelong.snares.cackling (what3words provides a precise location ‘code’ using random words, to help people find locations when street addresses aren’t accurate enough).

Let us know if you’re interested

Want to help out with future events?

We are calling for businesses, individuals, community groups and schools that would like to help plant trees with Wrexham Council to get in touch, as there will be more opportunities for people to get involved.

Please contact woodlandpledge@wrexham.gov.uk for more details.
