It’s really important that we manage your money well and responsibly, and that we run things properly.

Up for discussion on May 30

Our Audit Committee will meet this Thursday, May 30 to look at the annual accounts, and at what our auditors say about how we’ve done.

Jerry O’Keeffe chairs the committee. He isn’t a councillor or an employee, but an independent member of the public.

He says: “The council is a complex body which provides services that affect us all and which we rely on.

“It’s essential that people know that the council spends their money properly and that it runs its business properly and within the law.”

Mr O’Keeffe added: “This is especially important at the present time when finances are tight but people still expect quality services.”

Come to the meeting

The meetings are open to the public, so why not go along if you get the chance?

Mr O’Keeffe says: “The committee looks at serious matters, but the meetings aren’t scary or stuffy. We welcome members of the public attending.”

Interested? The meeting takes place this Thursday, May 30 at the Guildhall in Wrexham, starting at 4pm.
