If you want information or advice about your health and wellbeing or want to know how you can help somebody else, then Dewis is for you.

Dewis is a free online resource designed to make information about local services available to the public to promote individual wellbeing.

It incorporates practical help and support, including community groups, activities, events, local services and national organisations. Members of the public can search for a topic relevant to them and find a comprehensive list of local and national services that best meet their well-being needs.

You can access Dewis in Welsh and English.

Eisteddfod Wrecsam 2025

The team in Wrexham Family Information Service (WFIS) have been working hard to increase the number of services in Wrexham who have their information on Dewis and we think you will be impressed with the number of new services now available to view.

From the homepage, type in what you are looking for, along with your postcode and click ‘Search now’ to find a list of local services to help you.

Here are some tips for searching on Dewis:

  • Think about the search words you are using. For example, if you can’t find many ‘befriending’ services, try using an alternate word, such as ‘friendship’ or ‘companionship’.
  • Still not found what you’re looking for, then ‘refine your search’ to focus on a particular category, location or distance from your selected postcode.
  • To carry out a specific category search on Dewis, simply click on the ‘advanced search options’ under the ‘search now’ button on the home page and you can then select a category of your choice.

There are a wide range of categories to explore, such as adult day opportunities, community connectors/social prescribers, library services, events and many more.

Take a look at this example of a live category link for services that are providing mental health support in Wrexham.

Being a live link, the information will continue to be updated as the information changes on Dewis.

Dewis in Wrexham also has a Facebook page with extra tips on how to get the most out of the online service directory. Take a look by clicking on the following links to access its Welsh and English pages:
