Aparito specialise in providing wearable devices and disease-specific mobile apps to provide remote patient monitoring outside of the hospital environment.

Having been based in London for the past few years Aparito were looking to expand and Wrexham Council’s Business & Investment team helped them to identify potential premises, took them around with the agents, introduced them to Welsh Government sector and innovation leads and even provided contacts for office furniture to help get them up and running.

The company employs top IT and health professionals developing smart, portable and attractive devices and applications that are suitable for patients of all ages from small children to active teenagers and even frail elderly patients.

Aparito have now moved into a unit on the Wrexham Technology Park, and during the summer the Business & Investment team were delighted to share their office and provide the Aparito team with desk space whilst the new office was being made ready for them to move into.

“…an exciting adventure…”

Dr Elin Haf Davies, CEO of Aparito commented: “I was born in Wrexham, both me and our CIO Chris Tyson are Welsh, and even though it’s been over 20 years since we left Wales we were both very excited about opening an office in Wales.

“We hope that this is the start of an exciting adventure for Aparito in Wales.

“The expansion in Wrexham means we are centrally located in the UK and can better serve the many organisations that we are working with to deliver this exciting health care development and we were extremely grateful for all the help and support we have had from the Wrexham Business & Investment Team.”

Wrexham Council’s Lead Member for Economy – Economic Development and Regeneration, Councillor Terry Evans, said: “We are delighted that this innovative company has chosen to move into Wrexham.

“We have been able to provide a range of support, including the sourcing of a great office on the Wrexham Technology Park, and look forward to seeing Aparito grow and contribute to the economy of Wrexham.”
