Katie Cuddon, the artist commissioned to create Wal Pawb, a huge public artwork for the new arts and markets, has visited Wrexham for 4 days recently and met with community groups to gather inspiration for her new artwork.
Katie will produce six large scale billboard images that will sit between the market and the art gallery in the facility when it opens next Spring.
Whilst in Wrexham Katie met with parents and children, market traders, local artists and young people. She will continue to work from her studio and keep all those involved with the project up to date with her work.

“It was really exciting seeing the site taking shape for the new facility and I really enjoyed meeting the traders in the Butchers Market to speak about the Wal Pawb project. The children who attended the collage workshop I ran during my visit produced some wonderfully inventive work and those images keep coming to mind when I think about Wrexham and the project.”
Katie will be keeping in touch with us and will show us how her work is getting on in November. Her final artwork will be unveiled in Spring 2018 as part of the launch celebrations for the new £4.5 million Arts and Market Facility which is currently under construction in the former People’s Market.
