On Monday 20th December a dog, or group of dogs attacked and injured a sheep at Ty Mawr Country Park.

Work in social care and be the lifeline your community needs.

The incident happened at around 9.15am where a witness saw a Border collie jump into a field where sheep were present at Ty Mawr Country Park.

The witness reported the incident to one of our rangers who upon inspection found a lot of fleece in the field and at least one sheep with a wound to its side.

Currently dogs are allowed off their leads in our public parks (except in the car parks), however if incidents such as this continue to happen we will look at changing the rules.

Please keep your dogs under control in our public parks

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We don’t want irresponsible dog owners having a negative impact on the many responsible owners enjoying our parks. Please keep your dogs under control in our public parks as we really don’t want to see incidents such as this happening again.”

If you’re looking for a new career and want to help people in your community, a job in social care could be the right move.
