Senedd yr Ifanc are on the lookout for new members

Do you know a young person who would be interested in having a say about things that affect them, their friends and families?

Then encourage them to join Senedd Yr Ifanc – Wrexham’s Youth Parliament, a group of highly motivated and enthusiastic young people who are currently on the lookout for new members.

The Senedd is made up entirely of young people aged 11- 25 who have connections to Wrexham.

It works hard gathering the views and opinions of young people on specific issues that affect the young people of Wrexham.

Right now their priority is the “environment” and they have been actively promoting taking care of it during the pandemic.

Book your Covid-19 vaccination appointment online.

Take a look at the video they produced encouraging young people not to litter and how to avoid using plastics.

The Senedd yr Ifanc meets every last Monday of the month in the Guildhall Wrexham; the meetings are structured with formal and informal sections. It has taken place virtually over recent months but they hope to have face to face meetings once the Covid restrictions allow.

Want to find out more? Then contact youngvoices@wrexham.gov.uk to have a say in Wrexham’s future for the next generation.

Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti Poverty, said: “The Senedd yr Ifanc is an inspirational group of young people who are actively involved in making sure we all listen to the views of young people. It’s their future so if you know someone who love to join them please encourage them to get in touch.”
