Social care workers from across Wrexham have been recognised for their hard work and dedication at the Health and Social Care Qualification Awards.
The event, held on Wednesday July 8, celebrated learners who have successfully completed the Level 2 Health and Social Care: Core Qualification.
The qualification gives learners the essential knowledge and understanding needed to deliver high-quality care and support. It covers key areas including the principles and values of health and social care, health and wellbeing, professional practice, safeguarding, and health and safety.
Learners completed the qualification through a blended approach, including weekly taught sessions, one-to-one support with an assessor, e-learning and learning in the workplace.
Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor Jeremy Kent attended the event and presented certificates to learners, congratulating them on their achievements.
Speaking at the event, Mayor of Wrexham Councillor Jeremy Kent said, “We are extremely proud of our social care workforce, and the collaborative approach adopted by Wrexham Council and local employers’ helps to ensure that high-quality training is available and delivered across a wide range of social care services throughout Wrexham.”

Wrexham Council has its own assessment centre, which enables learners to be supported throughout their learning journey, with training tailored to their individual needs.
Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones, Lead Member for Adult Social Care, Health and Wellbeing said, “Congratulations to everyone who has completed this qualification. Social care workers make such a positive difference to people’s lives every day, and it is important that we recognise their skill, compassion and commitment. This achievement is something they should all be very proud of.”
Councillor Rob Walsh, Lead Member for Children’s and Family Services said, “It’s wonderful to see participants across children’s and family services recognised in this way. Their dedication, commitment and hard work will help strengthen the support provided to children, young people and families across Wrexham, and they should be very proud of what they have achieved.”
