Don’t forget the next tree planting event takes place on Saturday 18 March at Stockwell Grove, running from 10am until 3pm.

Please ensure you wear warm clothes, wellies and bring gloves. Tree planting is an activity people of all ages can get involved in so come along for a fun, family session, planting trees for a greener tomorrow.

Missed bin collection? Let us know.

We’ve been working with The Woodland Trust and Llais y Goedwig to plant trees throughout the county this Autumn and Winter.

It’s all part of the ‘My Tree, Our Forest’ Welsh Government funded tree giveaway that aims to distribute a free tree to all households in Wales. This phase (Nov 2022 – March 2023) aims to give away 295,000 trees. These trees are being distributed from 50 community hubs around Wales.

The Plant a Tree for Me (PAT4Me) option of My Tree Our Forest, facilitated and supported by Llais y Goedwig, enables households that do not have access to their own tree planting space or do not wish to claim their tree to have a tree planted on their behalf.

We’re committed to protecting trees and woodlands throughout county as part of the Tree and Woodland Strategy. In partnership with the Woodland Trust, Emergency Tree Fund we aim to increase canopy cover throughout the county

It’s vital now more than ever utilise our open green spaces to respond to the nature and climate emergency we are facing. Tree planting projects such as this will build connectivity between existing habitats,  improve ecosystem resilience as well as create inviting and enjoyable places to visit.

We are always looking for schools, businesses and community groups to get involved with our tree planting schemes so if you are interested in volunteering please get in touch via woodlandpledge@wrexham.gov.uk You can also lend your support for the protection of trees and woodlands within Wrexham through the Wrexham Woodland Pledge on our website Wrexham Woodland Pledge | Wrexham County Borough Council and through facebook and twitter.
