We often hear that supporting Wrexham and its local businesses is something residents feel strongly about, and now there is another way to do it.

VZTA Wrexham is a new app that gives Wrexham businesses the chance to promote themselves and reach a larger audience. You might have seen all the promotional activity around the city centre, and now you can download it the App Store or Google Play.

Once you’ve downloaded VZTA and selected ‘Wrexham’ you’ll find categories such as food and drink and shopping, where local businesses have included information about what they sell, offers they have on and where you can find them. There are also ideas on things to do in the city centre and to explore areas further afield in the county borough.

Nigel Williams, lead member for economy and regeneration at Wrexham Council said: “I am delighted to see the launch of this new app on our journey to make Wrexham a smart city, embracing the latest innovations and technology.

“The VZTA Wrexham app is a virtual shop window for local businesses allowing them the opportunity to showcase their business, products and any special offers and promotions.

“With the current economic climate this is a difficult time for business and this will be another tool to help them.

“I would urge all local businesses to get themselves on the app and residents of Wrexham and beyond to download the app to help our local economy.”
