Nominate your teaching hero…The 2019 awards“Get involved”

And we can all recall the teachers who inspired us…the ones who helped make us the people we are today.

So it only seems right that teachers get the recognition they deserve…

Because great teachers really are heroes 🙂

Nominate your teaching hero…

The Professional Teaching Awards Cymru was established in 2016 to honour the achievements of exceptional teachers and schools across the country.

So if you’re a teacher, student, parent, employer or colleague and know someone you’d like to nominate, now’s your chance 🙂

The 2019 awards

There are 10 categories for 2019, including teacher of the year, headteacher of the year, inspirational use of the Welsh language, and a brand new award – ‘youth work in schools’.

“Get involved”

Councillor Phil Wynn, who has lead responsibility for education in Wrexham, said:

“This in an excellent opportunity for people to demonstrate their appreciation for the hard work of our teachers in Wrexham County Borough.

“If you’ve been inspired by a local teacher, please get involved and nominate them for one of these awards.”

The deadline for nominations is midnight on November 30 (2018).

If you want to complete a nomination form offline, email teachingawards@gov.wales with your contact details and chosen category and a member of the team will get in touch.

Shortlisted finalists will be announced in April 2019.
