Wrexham DASU, the Domestic Abuse Safety Unit recently received the kind donation of several ‘trauma teddies’ knitted by local resident Julie Pettigrew.
Trauma bears are knitted teddies that are given as a comfort to children that have been through trauma.
Julie was thanked by Rachel Roberts-Jones – Wrexham Community Team Leader, DASU, Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones – Wrexham Council’s gender-based violence, domestic abuse and sexual violence champion and Katy Evans – Wrexham Council’s Senior Partnership Officer.
Cllr Beverly Parry Jones said: “It was great to see the collection of colourful bears that will be put to good use, and comfort a child who is going through a difficult time.”
Colourful blankets are also made by local residents and shared with the organisation for adults and children who arrive there seeking refuge. You can find more information on Dasu here.
