Wrexham’s multi-award winning cultural venue, Tŷ Pawb, has been appointed to the role of Curator of Y Lle Celf at this year’s National Eisteddfod of Wales.
The National Eisteddfod of Wales is an annual, week-long celebration of Welsh arts, language and culture, which takes place in different parts of Wales every year, alternating between north and south.
The Eisteddfod is the largest cultural festival in Europe, regularly attracting attendances of well over 100,000.
This year’s Eisteddfod will be taking place in Wrexham in August.
Y Lle Celf (The Art Space) is the visual arts gallery on the Eisteddfod Maes. It’s a celebration of the arts in Wales, combining the work of recognised and new artists.
Tŷ Pawb will now work alongside the selectors, the local artistic committee, and the Eisteddfod
artistic team to deliver Y Lle Celf the heart of the Eisteddfod site, including the week long programme of engagement events.

Tŷ Pawb and National Eisteddfod to create something ‘truly special’
National Eisteddfod of Wales Artistic Director, Elen Elis, said: We’re thrilled to appoint Tŷ Pawb, led by Creative Director Jo Marsh, as the curators of Y Lle Celf for this summer’s National Eisteddfod of Wales in Wrecsam. We look forward to working closely with the team at Tŷ Pawb to create something truly special and vibrant for this year’s Visual Arts Exhibition Centre.
“Y Lle Celf is a key national celebration of Welsh visual arts and architecture, attracting up to 40,000 visitors and showcasing works from Wales’ foremost artists. This new relationship offers the opportunity for us to push boundaries, create new partnerships, and explore new avenues as we look to the future.
Commited to supporting Welsh arts & culture
Lead Member with responsibility for Tŷ Pawb, Cllr Hugh Jones, said: “The Tŷ Pawb team bring a wealth of experience in supporting Welsh art and artists, including presenting the first solo exhibition by Liaqat Rasul in 2024, acting as lead organisation for Sean Edwards’ Wales in Venice presentation at the Venice Biennale 2019, through to the Tŷ Pawb Open exhibition, which in 2024 received over 450 entries. Tŷ Pawb also won the Eisteddfod Gold Medal for Architecture at Llanrwst in 2019.
“Congratulations to the team. We look forward to working at Y Lle Celf on the maes of what promises to be a very special Eisteddfod here in Wrecsam this summer.”
