Once again Wrexham has been blown away by a fantastic Victorian Christmas market which is currently being held at St Gilles’ this afternoon.

Starting at noon today and running through until this evening, the annual event has grown in both size and popularity year on year and this time around it’s even bigger and better than before.

Over 100 stalls are set-up stretching across St Gilles and Queen’s Square and there’s been plenty of visitors browsing for some great bargains to add to their Christmas shopping. You can pick yourself up some wonderful items with wine, sweets and treats all appearing in a wide variety. This is a great way to build on last year’s successful market (video below) which attracted 15,000 people.

Not only will you have the chance to pick up some great gifts for your loved ones, but all whilst you make your way around you will be entertained throughout by a brass band and barrel organist whilst the little ones will be enthralled by our carousel and Punch and Judy show – there really is something for everyone.

“What better way to get into the wonderful Christmas spirit than to drop by and enjoy the variety of things on offer at the Victorian Market” said councilor Terry Evans, who has already been among the festive fun this afternoon.

“It’s brilliant to see the people of Wrexham coming out to support this great event, mixing together and embracing the season of good will.

“The Christmas season always brings a boost to the town and events like this aren’t just a community boost, but also benefit the local economy which can only be a good thing”.

Haven’t had the chance to make it down yet? The market and entertainment will be open until 8pm tonight, so come on down!
