You now only have a few days left to make your nominations for the annual Wrexham County Borough Sports Awards, held to mark the achievements and hard work of volunteers, athletes and sports-people from across Wrexham.

Maybe you know someone who volunteers every hour available to support a sports group or club?

Or maybe you know someone who’s overcome adversity or hardship to achieve sporting greatness in their field?

The awards ceremony will take place at the Brymbo Sports and Social Complex on Friday, February 15, 2019.

Last year’s sports awards celebrated the efforts of dedicated sporting volunteers and athletes from across Wrexham – and this year won’t be any different.

“Well-deserved recognition”

Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti-Poverty, with responsibility for Leisure, said: “The annual Sports Awards ensures that those who work hard in our sports clubs and community sporting groups get some well-deserved recognition for their efforts.

“We know that there’s plenty of hard-working volunteers out their, along with scores of athletes who represent the very best of Wrexham’s sporting spirit.”
