The Ageing Well event held on 26 June at Tŷ Pawb has been hailed as a resounding success, drawing a vibrant turnout and strong engagement from residents, service providers, and community advocates.

Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Adult Social Care, said: “The event was a great success for providers and visitors alike. It was fantastic to see so many members of the public accessing information and advice from the wide range of organisations in attendance. I’d encourage everyone to visit our website to learn more about Ageing Well in Wrexham and the support available.”

With over 20 participating agencies, the event brought together professionals and volunteers passionate about enhancing the lives of older adults. Attendees engaged with experts across health, wellbeing, and community support sectors – fostering connections and improving awareness of essential services.

The event was also attended by David McKinney, Ageing Well Lead from the Older People’s Commissioner’s Office for Wales, who reflected on the importance of community-driven initiatives: “It was inspirational to see everyone connecting and building the vital networks and relationships needed for Age-Friendly Wrexham to flourish.

“There’s so much help and support available, so much going on, and so many committed, friendly and active community members working together to make Wrexham a great place to live and age well.”

The uplifting atmosphere reflected the community’s shared commitment to ageing well, supported by energetic involvement from attendees of all ages. A special highlight was a moving performance by the intergenerational choir from St. Anne’s Primary School, whose heartfelt contribution added an extra touch of warmth and unity to the occasion.

Following this year’s success, organisers are already planning more events for spring 2026 – aimed at building on the momentum and continuing conversations around healthy ageing in Wrexham.
