A leading Welsh food supply chain business is playing an increasingly important role in the national food sector, sourcing essential products from producers and manufactures across the UK and delivering them to customers across the food industry.

Middledale Foods, based in Chirk, specialises in strategic, resilient sourcing of ingredients, including milk, cream, eggs and yoghurt for food manufacturers across the UK, delivering long-term value.

Cllr Nigel Williams, lead member for economy, business and tourism, recently visited the company’s headquarters to meet the team and learn more about its operations and future plans. He said: “I was really pleased to meet the director of Middledale Foods, to hear about their plans for the future and reflect on their successes.

“This company has demonstrated the importance of innovation in building a sustainable supply chain for their customers. Their technical expertise and partner-led approach has enabled their growth and long-term success.”

Sarah Summers, managing director of Middledale Foods, said: “I was delighted to welcome Councillor Nigel Williams to site and to share both our journey so far and our ambitions for the future. We have some exciting plans for growth and team development, so it was a  great opportunity to talk through both our successes and the challenges we’re navigating. We really welcome Wrexham Council’s business team’s support and ideas – especially as we shape our sustainability strategy and continue investing in our team through our significant training and development programme.”
