£6.1 million has now been awarded to businesses in Wrexham under the business rates relief support announced by Welsh Government.
Finance and ICT Staff, including many drafted in from other duties, have handled over 507 claims and there’s 300 currently being processed which will be processed in the coming days.

Chief Executive, Ian Bancroft and Council Leader, Cllr Mark Pritchard welcomed the news and said “These are very difficult and worrying times for businesses in Wrexham and across the UK. Staff have been determined that the support given by Welsh Government gets to our businesses quickly in order to help them manage during these unprecedented times. Their commitment to this can be seen in the amount of claims that have already been processed in a very short time and we know that this will continue to ensure that every claim goes through with the speed and accuracy needed.”
