About the school…The person they need

This community is looking for an enthusiastic leader to guide them and help shape their future. It’s a great opportunity for the right person and if this sounds like you, please read on…

About the school…

Ysgol Bodhyfryd is currently classed as a ‘yellow’ school…which means they’re good…but they’re looking to be excellent!

It’s the largest and oldest Welsh medium primary school in Wrexham. There’s 397 pupils and 47 teaching staff (including teaching assistants), and it’s their passion that will drive this improvement.

The Chair of Governors, Suzanne Price, says that wellbeing, inclusivity, teamwork, high standards and high expectations are at the forefront of the school’s ethos:

“Gyda’n Gilydd (‘together’) is our school motto and it really sums us up – we are a friendly and caring school with an active PTA and a supportive governing body.

“Our previous headteacher was with us for 18 years, until moving on to a post with Estyn – the children are now really looking forward to welcoming a new headteacher.”

The children have designed some artwork to support the recruitment campaign, and there’s no-one better placed to tell you about the school than one of its pupils…

Summer says: “We need a fantastic head because our school is special. We have respectful children who are ready to learn.

“We need a head who will show respect and be ready for a challenge.”

The person they need

You’ll need great enthusiasm and be a Welsh speaker. You’ll either be an experienced headteacher or an exceptional teaching practitioner who holds the NPQH qualification.

You need a passion for improvement, experience as a leader, great teamwork and fantastic communication.

You’ll look to the future and won’t be afraid to try new things.

So, do you want the opportunity to lead this wonderful team?

For an informal discussion, call the Chair of Governors Suzanne Price on 07970 028550.
