A cafe that supports the community

The team at No.22 told us: “It’s been our dream to open a community focused cafe so we’re really thrilled to see No.22 finally up and running at Tŷ Pawb.

“We’re running a number of schemes to help give some support to those who need it. We have a pay it forward scheme, which means that for every 10 drinks and every 10 meals sold, one is donated to a local organisation by us. We select a new local organisation to support every three months. This means every purchase people make here is helping to support the community!

“We also have a suspended coffee scheme. Customers have the option to purchase extra cups of coffee which are added to our ‘suspended’ menu and can be given out to anyone who needs it.

“We don’t ask any questions, its based on trust. It could be someone who’s in financial difficulties, someone who’s lost a wallet or an elderly person who just wants to get out of the house.”

“We’ve just set up our book exchange too. People are welcome to pick a book to read and they can even take it home to finish as long as they bring it back or replace it with another title.”

‘Brilliant feedback’

The team said: “We’ve already had some brilliant feedback from the local community. Our suspended coffee scheme reached thirteen coffees at one point in our first week so we really do want to thank our amazing customers for supporting us.”

“We’ve got some great plans for the future, including a special day for OAP’s where they will be able to get a cup of tea and a scone, free of charge.”

Kids can even make their own pizza as part of the ‘Kids Kitchen’ menu!

There’s also different specials on the board every week plus great tea and coffee!
