This week is National Hate Crime Awareness Week and we know many of you will be keen to get the message out so here’s how you can help:

Content
Take part in “Thinking Together 2021” to help Hate Crime preventionReport Hate Crime
  • Listen – If anyone tells you that they have been a victim, listen to their story and encourage them to report it.
  • Report – If you witness it, report it… You don’t have to be a victim to make a report.
  • Share – share messages throughout the week about Hate Crime prevention

Work in social care and be the lifeline your community needs.

Take part in “Thinking Together 2021” to help Hate Crime prevention

You can also join Hate Crime Victim Support, North Wales Police and the North East Wales Regional Cohesion Team on October 21 for Thinking Together 2021 – an interactive forum to share ideas and resources for hate crime prevention in Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire.

Thinking Together recognises that hate crime prevention begins by nurturing an inclusive understanding of diversity, and by building resilience against harmful attitudes and misinformation.

This forum provides an opportunity for everyone in North East Wales including community partners and service providers to share how we are collectively working towards those goals – what’s going well; what we need to change; and what new approaches we can take to make our communities safer.

Contact gareth.hall@wrexham.gov.uk to book your attendance.

Report Hate Crime

To report it by phone call 101, to report it online visit https://www.reporthate.victimsupport.org.uk/ or call into any police station if you wish to speak to an officer direct.

If you’re looking for a new career and want to help people in your community, a job in social care could be the right move.
