To mark the start we’ll be holding a “Light Up Vigil” on Llwyn Isaf Green at 7pm in memory of Sarah Everard who was kidnapped and murdered whilst walking home in South London earlier this year.

Work in social care and be the lifeline your community needs.

Similar events will also be held in Bangor and Rhyl.

Members of the public are invited to attend wearing white ribbons and use the lights on their mobile phones or torches to show their support to end violence against women and domestic abuse, for good.

The Guildhall Balcony will be lit up at 7pm and the White Ribbon Flag will be flying for the whole campaign.

The event is expected to last between 40 and 60 minutes and will include the reading of a poem “You Hurt Me” by abuse survivor Kerry Mellor

About the White Ribbon Campaign

White Ribbon UK is the leading charity working with men and boys to end violence against women. This year’s White Ribbon Campaign will see, thousands of people will take action and raise awareness to prevent violence before it starts.

#AllMenCan is their leading message this year. It was developed for them in March when the shocking murder of Sarah Everard brought women’s experience of men’s violence to the forefront of everyone’s minds.

It also opened up many conversations about men taking action and making a stand and many have gone on to make the White Ribbon Promise (Link https://www.whiteribbon.org.uk/promise) and will be wearing their White Ribbons to show their support for the campaign.

Help is available

How to Report Abuse

If you are a victim of domestic abuse where a crime has taken place, you can contact North Wales Police through their webchat facility on their website (link https://www.northwales.police.uk/)

In an emergency, always dial 999. This number is a 24 hour service and you should only use it in situations where there is: danger to life, use, or immediate threat of use, of violence. If you wish to speak to someone outside of the police for general advice, please contact Live Fear Free on 080880 10 800.

If you’re looking for a new career and want to help people in your community, a job in social care could be the right move.
