Topics covered sustainable manufacturing, pathway to carbon zero and ethical and auditable carbon offsetting.

The event Launched Wrexham’s Achieving Carbon Zero Forum. The Forum’s aim is to share information and best practice, provide a platform for the discussion of topics such as carbon sequestration, circular economy, establishing “green teams” within the work place, as well as aiding businesses to support each other to ensure we are all working towards a cleaner, greener future.

Cllr Nigel Williams, Lead member for Economy and Regeneration, said, “This was an excellent event arranged by Wrexham council’s business support team.

“The team is leading the way across North Wales authorities in arranging and facilitating such an event to highlight and bring together local businesses from within the county borough to work together and share best practices to help tackle the issues and help in reducing carbon and achieve the goal of carbon zero.

“There were some very informative presentations which were well received by attendees with positive feedback after the event.”

Cllr David A Bithell, Deputy Leader and Climate Champion, said, “Whilst here at the Council we are really moving forward with our decarbonisation agenda climate change is a global issue and it’s really encouraging that local businesses are now getting on board to do their bit to achieve carbon zero.”
