This week, we’ll delve into the benefits of only filling the Kettle with the amount of water needed. Filling the kettle with only the water you need saves water and energy. The NEA said, ‘It is more expensive to boil a full kettle than a half-full kettle, as there is less water that needs to be heated, meaning less energy is used.’ By avoiding overfilling the kettle you could save £10 a year on your electricity bill. A good way to determine how much water you need is to measure the volume of water using a measuring cup before pouring it into the kettle.
