Wrexham County Borough Council have prosecuted 3 individuals in 3 separate Planning Enforcement cases:

Planning Prosecutions


• The owner of land at Fenns Moss was prosecuted for failing to remove a residential caravan, in breach of the requirements of a Planning Enforcement Notice and ordered to pay a £1000 fine, £100 investigation costs, £189 legal costs and £540 surcharge;

Planning Prosecutions

• The operator of a business premises on Chester Road in Gresford was prosecuted for displaying illuminated signs without advertisement consent and ordered to pay a £1000 fine, £120 legal costs, £100 investigation costs and £400 surcharge;

Planning Prosecutions

• The owner of land in Rhosrobin was prosecuted for failing to comply with the requirements of a notice served under Section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to undertake works to improve the condition of untidy land and ordered to pay a £1000 fine, £180 legal costs, £100 investigation costs and £400 surcharge.

Councillor Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Planning and Public Protection, said: “The outcome of these cases again demonstrates that we take failure to comply with planning rules, including failing to comply with Enforcement Notices very seriously and will respond robustly’

David Fitzsimon, Chief Officer for Economy and Planning at Wrexham Council, said: “Planning regulations help to protect the environment and our communities and breaches are taken seriously. These cases demonstrate that our Officers respond robustly to breaches of planning control by taking enforcement action, including prosecution, where it is expedient to do so.”
