Altaeros UK is delivering advanced engineering and manufacturing solutions through its dedicated and highly skilled workforce, with its Wrexham facility playing a pivotal role in the company’s expanding UK presence. The site has been established as a core hub for production, technical development and customer support, positioning Altaeros UK for long‑term growth within Wrexham and the wider engineering and manufacturing sector.
The Wrexham operation is led by General Manager Andrea Preece, who oversees day‑to‑day delivery and supports the strategic development of the site as it scales. Following significant investment in the new facility, Altaeros UK has clear plans in place for further growth as demand increases and additional engineering capabilities are introduced.
Developing local skills and talent is central to Altaeros UK’s long‑term growth strategy. The company is actively working with regional education providers to develop a structured engineering apprenticeship programme, focused on practical manufacturing, engineering and technology skills. Early discussions are underway with local partners, including Coleg Cambria, to create clear progression pathways and long‑term career opportunities for young people in the area.
Altaeros UK is also working closely with the Business and Investment Team at Wrexham County Borough Council, to support its expansion plans. This collaborative approach is helping the company to explore opportunities for continued investment, research and development activity, and workforce growth, contributing to economic development and the creation of high‑value jobs in the county.
Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy, Business & Tourism at Wrexham County Borough Council, said:
“I was pleased to visit the team at Altaeros and have a tour around the factory to see all aspects of their production facilities.
It was great to see so many apprentices working there and hearing such positive stories of how they are being trained and learning new skills.”
