Over at the Wellbeing Hub based in Crown Buildings, staff and volunteers are delivering free fun filled Family Zone days throughout the school holidays.
So far, the sessions have been a huge hit with many families attending and joining in with some great summer fun.
Families can turn up and enjoy the brilliant atmosphere and activities. Sessions are held every Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer holidays (except Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 August).
You can expect a relaxed, welcoming space here with free play, drink and snack provided. Food items such as fresh fruit, cereal, cereal bars and spaghetti hoops have been kindly donated by Wrexham Foodbank and staff have also pitched in to provide snacks.
BCUHB Dietetics and The BCUHB Health improvement Team have helped to facilitate activities. Dieticians from BCUHB helped the children create their own breakfast cereal to enjoy alongside a healthy snack while learning about positive food choices.
The fun is coordinated in a team effort which includes dedicated volunteers who have already helped to deliver a wide range of exciting activities from a dance party to serving up spaghetti hoops on toast.

Feedback from parents attending the sessions so far has been very positive. One parent said “Helped us do something in the holidays. Allowed children to socialise. Nice to have something weekly to do”.
Family Zone offers a great opportunity for families to relax, chat, play, and connect with others. It’s also a good opportunity for children to learn about healthy habits in a fun and engaging way.
There is plenty more fun in store before the summer holidays are over so be sure to come down to some of the remaining dates.
There is no booking required and is available to children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, you can contact a member of the team at wellbeinghub@wrexham.gov.uk.
