People in Wrexham came together at Tŷ Pawb on Monday, October 5, to attend the screening of a public awareness film about the major climate and nature crisis facing the UK.
The People’s Emergency Briefing was released in April this year and is being screened in communities, workplaces, councils, cinemas and other venues across the country.
The 100 tickets on offer for the free public event at Tŷ Pawb were snapped up quickly, and due to demand we’re pleased to announce the film will be shown again on Saturday, October 17 (full booking details down below).
We talked to some of the attendees as they were leaving the screening on October 5, and they spoke passionately about the important messages in the film. Check out their thoughts in the video below…
“When communities come together it can make a difference”
Deputy Leader Councillor David A Bithell, who is leading the council’s response to climate change, said: “It’s fantastic that so many people attended the public screening on October 5, and the demand for a second event shows that people in Wrexham care deeply about the climate and nature crisis. When communities come together it can make a difference.
“Change needs to happen, and it needs to happen quickly. It’s a global issue, but everyone can play their part. If we don’t, it’s our communities and future generations who will bear the consequences.
“The film is really impactful – it’s interesting, educational, inspiring, and it will possibly be one of the most important things you ever watch. If you didn’t get to the first screening, try to secure a place at at Tŷ Pawb on Saturday, October 17.”
Book your place for October 17

Presented by Chris Packham, it explores a range of issues including:
- Climate change and extreme weather.
- Nature loss and biodiversity decline.
- Food security.
- Public health.
- Infrastructure resilience.
- The economy.
- National security.
- Potential solutions and actions that communities, organisations and governments can take.
