October is here! The month of crisp mornings, golden leaves, jewelled grass, conker collecting, and maybe that first hint of winter when the heating clicks on. It’s the perfect time to pull on your coat, grab a pumpkin-spiced latte, and step outside.

Shorter days don’t have to mean slowing down. With Walktober, you can celebrate the colours of autumn, lift your spirits, and get rewarded for every step when you use the BetterPoints app.

Using the free BetterPoints app means you can earn rewards by recording your walking, wheeling, running, cycling and public transport journeys.

The rewards can be spent on a range of vouchers from high street brands and participating local businesses, or donated to charity.

How it works

Think of it like kicking through the leaves; those little steps soon add up to something joyful. Here’s how to join in:

  • Walk or wheel for 10 minutes → 1 ticket into the daily draw (up to 3 tickets per day).
  • Walk or wheel for 30 minutes in a day → 1 ticket into the Grand Prize Draw.
  • Walk or wheel to work on a Wednesday → 1 bonus ticket into the Grand Prize Draw.
  • Refer a friend → 1 ticket for each friend you refer (up to 10 per week).

What you can win

Every walk or wheel could bring a prize, like finding a shiny conker tucked among the fallen leaves. Here’s what’s waiting for you:

  • 🎫 Daily Draw: 10 winners every day of 500 BetterPoints.
  • 🫶 Refer-a-Friend (weekly): Win your share of £25 each week!
  • 🏆 Grand Prize Draw (end of Walktober):
    • 1 × 25,000 BetterPoints (that’s £25)
    • 5 × 10,000 BetterPoints
    • 10 × 5,000 BetterPoints

Weekly badges (collect a new one each week)

Hit these walking/wheeling totals each week to earn a different badge, there are 5 to collect!

  • 🥇 Weekly Badge — 150 minutes in a week

Quick recap

When the air is crisp and the evenings draw in, a brisk walk can make all the difference. Here’s the simple version:

  1. Walk 10 minutes → ticket entry into the daily draw (max 3 per day).
  2. Hit 30 minutes in a day → earn a Grand Prize ticket.
  3. Walk or wheel to work on a Wednesday → 1 bonus Grand Prize ticket.
  4. Refer a friend → enter the weekly Refer-a-Friend draw.
  5. Stack minutes each week → unlock a new badge (5 to collect).

Step into Walktober. Small walks, brighter days, bigger wins. ✨
