For Green Libraries Week, The Woodland Trust as proud members of Wrexham Forest Partnership are teaming up with Gwersyllt Library to host a free, educational family event about the power of trees.
‘Meet the Supertrees’, taking place on Wednesday 28 October from 1–4pm, is going to be a day of fun activities, crafts, and educating people all about the superpowers of trees.
Attendees can take part in a range of activities, including making magic wands, building bird boxes, and a nature orienteering trail. There’ll even be the chance to get involved in a free tree giveaway!
Booking for this free event is not required. Simply turn up on the day. Although the event is free, donations to support the management of the woodlands are welcome.
As fellow members of Wrexham Forest Partnership, we’re adding our support to the event. Cllr David A Bithell, Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Environment, said: “This promises to be a fun, positive, family event which shows the importance of trees to our environment. People of all ages are welcome to come along for free and find out just how special trees really are.”
Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member with responsibility for libraries, said: “Green Libraries Week highlights the important role our libraries play in guiding communities toward reliable, evidence-based information around nature. If you are free, please come across to Gwersyllt Library to support this event.”
