A longstanding men’s designer outlet in the centre of Wrexham are celebrating both their success and upcoming relocation to Hope Street.
Having first opened its doors back in 1993 on the outskirts of town before moving to Eagles Meadow in 2011, the project has been made possible thanks to Wrexham Council and a grant from the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme, the project has also received a loan from The Development Bank of Wales.
Transforming Towns is a Welsh Government programme providing over £100m to town centre regeneration in Wales.
Ragazzi will officially open to the public on the 23 October and are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new from Wrexham and beyond.
Over the years they have gained a reputation for stocking the latest designer brands in men’s fashion and they pride themselves on exceptional customer service, with a large online presence which has developed significantly over recent years
The project has also supported the local economy with local contractors securing contracts as part of the work, and more than £75,000 spent locally.
The owners of Ragazzi, Oliver Davies and Andy Burson said, “without the support of the Transforming Towns grant and loan, the purchase of our own premises wouldn’t have been possible, we are also extremely grateful for the support we have received from the Regeneration Team within the Economy and Planning Department at Wrexham Council with the process and for signposting us to The Development Bank of Wales who have also supported the project via a loan.”
Councillor Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy, Business and Tourism said, “the provision of the Transforming Towns Programme makes funding for regeneration projects more accessible, enabling us to build on the successes we have already achieved in Wrexham.
“Ragazzi is a fantastic example of a long-standing Wrexham business investing in its future, while protecting the heritage and character that makes our City Centre special.
“It’s particularly pleasing to see the business continue to thrive in the heart of Wrexham. Improvements like this help strengthen the City Centre, support the local economy and make Wrexham a more attractive place for residents and visitors.”
