Last few days to see Play-work Exhibition

Tŷ Pawb’s gallery has been transformed into a huge indoor adventure playground as part of the exhibition Play-Work and it’s been very popular with over 8623 visiting since it opened in August.

It’s a fully interactive play area designed in collaboration with the artists, Ludicology, Tŷ Pawb staff, our Play & Youth Support Team and Wrexham’s adventure playgrounds. It’s got everything for kids to enjoy what they do best – playing.

IF WE GET A BAD SETTLEMENT, WE’LL HAVE TO LOOK AT FURTHER CUTS. HAVE YOUR SAY…

Tons of sand were shipped in for the exhibition which has been the highlight of the exhibition – although we suspect there’s a little less now than when it first opened. 🙂

The exhibition closes on October 27 so there’s just a few days left to make sure your little ones get a chance to be a part of this amazing exhibition – the first of its type in Wrexham.

    Here’s what some visitors thought:

A-MAZING! This is GENIUS! Such an awesome thing for kids to experience and to read about! The play support guy was helpful and full of positivity and encouragement! What a brilliant thing! Thanks Tý Pawb!

Just been to the work play area for children with quite a few children aged between 7 months and 4 years. It was brilliant, a lovely, well thought out area for them to explore their imaginations and exert some energy. Highly recommended x

We loved it. Such a great exhibition for kids. My little one loved playing on the horizontal slides and digging in the sand.

We’ve visited 3 times so far. We’ve really enjoyed it. X

My daughter loves the chalk wall and jumping onto the mat. She was chuffed to be able to do the fireman’s pole for the first time with a little help from one of the play workers. Such a fantastic area.

The exhibition is funded by Arts Council Wales and Arts and Business Cymru. It is sponsored by local Wrexham firm, Grosvenor ApTec Ltd.

If we get a bad settlement, we’ll have to look at further cuts.Have your say.

  • Next phase of PSPO consultation – let us know what you think

Next phase of PSPO consultation – let us know what you think

We recently carried out a round of consultation on our town centre Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).

The PSPO allows us to carry out enforcement across a defined area in the town centre on certain anti-social behaviours or activities.

This includes things like use of drugs and alcohol; public urinating or defecating; intimidating behaviour or begging.

IF WE GET A BAD SETTLEMENT, WE’LL HAVE TO LOOK AT FURTHER CUTS. HAVE YOUR SAY…

We went out to the public to see what they thought of the PSPO, whether or not it needed changing, and if it needed renewing.

We had more than 700 responses to the consultation (736 in total), and the majority of those responding were in agreement with our proposals to renew the PSPO.

But some of those who took part wanted some further details and clarity on what we’d proposed, so they could provide a more informed view.

So with that in mind, we’ve gone out with some more detail on the proposals put forward, and have included the conditions we have included in the proposed PSPO.

A second round of consultation is now open – you can take part in the consultation on our Your Voice website.

    Not just about enforcement alone

Since the PSPOs were first brought in back in 2017, we’ve been very much aware that some of the problems it deals with can’t be solved by enforcement alone – most of them require a multi-agency response, where we work with partners to provide help to those people who need it.

And that’s something we’ve done in recent years, including through the work of our Gold Group, and the Community Safety Partnership.

But we also want to make sure that everyone feels safe in Wrexham town centre, and that the area is free from anti-social behaviour – we know from the first round of the consultation that many members of the public don’t feel safe when coming to the town centre.

So we have to strike a balance between making sure enforcement powers are in place, and providing support to vulnerable individuals to help them through problems like addiction or rough sleeping.

The PSPO is part of that response, so it’s important to make sure to have your say.
