Sixteen colourful new sheep sculptures will be unveiled this Friday as Wrexham’s much-loved Sheep Trail returns, inviting families and visitors to explore more of the city centre and county throughout the summer holidays and beyond.
Launching at Ty Pawb from 11.00am on Friday 24th July, the refreshed trail features 16 brand-new sheep sculptures, alongside a selection of lovingly refurbished favourites from the original 2016 trail.
Inspired by Wrexham County’s rich agricultural heritage, the sheep celebrate the area’s long-standing farming traditions and rural character. They offer a fun and engaging way for families and visitors to explore the county, while recognising an important part of Wrexham’s history and identity.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see the full flock together at Ty Pawb throughout the launch weekend before the sheep make their way to their permanent homes across Wrexham County from Monday, July 27, where they will become a lasting part of the area’s visitor experience.
The free attraction has been delivered through a partnership between This is Wrecsam, Wrexham County Borough Council and funding from the Transforming Towns Programme, alongside generous sponsorship from local businesses.

The refreshed trail has been created to encourage families and visitors to discover more of Wrexham’s unique places, attractions, businesses and communities, while supporting the local economy and providing another enjoyable reason to spend time exploring the county.
Trail maps will be available from participating venues and visitor locations, allowing families to set themselves the challenge of finding all 16 new sheep.
Those who successfully photograph every one of the new sheep sculptures and submit their images to This is Wrecsam by September 30, 2026 will be entered into a prize draw to win admission for up to four people to a Wrexham County attraction of their choice, together with a £100 voucher to spend at one of This is Wrecsam’s member eateries.
Unlike previous years, the new Sheep Trail has been designed as a permanent addition to Wrexham County’s tourism offer, with ambitions to grow the trail further in the years ahead.
Lead artist Ellie Ashby said: “It has been a real privilege to be involved once again with Wrexham’s Sheep Trail. Seeing the affection people still have for the original sheep after almost a decade has been wonderful, and it’s been great fun creating a whole new flock with their own individual personalities.
“I hope families enjoy searching for them just as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing them to life, and that the trail encourages people to explore more of the fantastic places that make Wrexham County so special.”
Families are invited to visit Ty Pawb from 11am on Friday, July 24 to meet the complete flock before they head off to their new homes across Wrexham County from Monday.
