There’s a lot on offer at our country parks this summer and as the summer holidays continue why not check into one of them to enjoy the surroundings and get some fresh air.
The next event is on August 2 at Tŷ Mawr and is a “Bee Happy” theme where children can make a mask and follow a buzzy bee trail on between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. It’s suitable for all ages and costs just £2.60. You can also have fun making a 5* Bug Hotel on Thursday August 16 or join the Maelor Angling Club for their Coracle building and demonstration Day on August 18. Tŷ Mawr will also hold its final event – Tractor Ride and Animal Trail – on Thursday 30 August.
Acton Park, another popular park is holding a Japanese paper craft event which will unfold from 1.30 and 3.30 in the Japanese Gardens. There’s also a Treasure Hunt on Tuesday August 14 and a Bat Night on Tuesday August 28 from 8.30pm.
The BMX track at Ponciau banks is the place to be for all enthusiasts on Monday August 20 for a BMX session – this extremely popular event books up quickly and booking is essential. Itk costs £7.50 and is suitable for 7’s and over. Please telephone 01978 844028 to book in advance.
There’s lots of fun at Alyn Waters with a Natural O’s and X’s the traditional board game taking place on August 8 and a family summer treasure hunt around the park on Wednesday August 22.
Finally, Ponciau Park Friends Group will hold their annual fun day on Saturday 8 September from 1pm.
