Bike owners – it’s nearly time to pump up those tyres, root out your cycle helmet and get into gear as Cycle to Work day 2023 is fast approaching us.

The UK’s biggest celebration of cycle commuting returns on Thursday August 3, 2023 and we’re encouraging people who live and work in Wrexham to get involved!

Whether you’re an avid or casual cyclist, it simply doesn’t matter – Cycle to Work Day is for everyone. And even if you aren’t working on the day, you can still get involved by choosing to cycle as you run errands such as going to the shops, picking the kids up from school or meeting up with friends.

There are loads of reasons why you should think about cycling, including:

  • It helps to keep you fit and healthy
  • It increases your brain power (yes, studies show cycling stimulates the growth of new connections between cells in cortical areas of the brain)
  • It’s good for your mental health
  • It reduces your carbon footprint

We have some great cycling routes in the local area…you can also check out Traveline Cymru’s journey planner which will help you map out your trip.

Simply put, Cycle to Work day is a chance to remind ourselves of the brilliant benefits everyday cycling offers.

So there’s only one question left to ask; are you in?
