Recycling Facts Wrexham

We’re continuing to post a recycling fact on our Facebook and Twitter pages, each day throughout March.

We recently published a blog, which took you through the first ten facts, and now here’s a quick run-down of the next ten…

Fact 1: 650 tonnes of carpets were recycled last year in Wrexham.

Fact 2: Remember to fully empty and clean any food out of bottles or jars before putting into your recycling containers (any food can go into your food caddy).

Fact 3: Recycling one extra glass bottle will stop 4,000 cars worth of CO2 getting into the atmosphere.

Fact 4: Did you know that out date food can be emptied into your food waste caddy?

Fact 5: Spectacles (or eye glasses) can be taken to your local optician for reuse overseas.

Fact 6: Had a roast dinner or pork chops for tea? Put the bones in your food waste caddy 🙂

Fact 7: Wrexham residents recycled over 640 tonnes of cans last year.

Fact 8: Are your recycling containers overflowing each week? Order additional containers free of charge (don’t be tempted to put any recycling into your rubbish bin).

Fact 9: Steel cans are 100% recyclable and can be recycled over and over again. They can even be turned in to bicycles.

Fact 10: Have you found some out of date food in your fridge? Empty the food into your caddy (even the mould!), wash the plastic pot, tub or tray, and pop it into your recycling container.
